About the Presenters

Andres Sandate

Andres Sandate is the Head of Capital Markets at Nectar. Andres is the creator and host of ATLalts, a podcast dedicated to alternative investments and private markets. Andres’s alternative investment experience includes leadership positions in real estate, hedge funds, credit/distressed, and private equity, at Altera Private, Cygnus Capital, Whetstone Capital Advisors, and Ascendant Capital, as well as investment banking roles at Regions Capital Markets and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. Andres is a Board Member of The Southeastern Alternative Funds Association, earned his BS and MBA from The University of Kansas, and holds Series 7, 63, and 79 securities licenses.

 

Derrick Barker

Derrick Barker is the Co-Founder and CEO of Nectar. Derrick began his career as a trader at Goldman Sachs where he traded structured products. While at Goldman he built a 500+ unit real estate portfolio in his hometown of Atlanta, GA. He eventually left Goldman Sachs to continue his real estate ventures, which eventually grew to over $400 million in asset value, with over 4,700 units. Derrick attended Harvard University where he was an All-American football player, Ivy League Champion and co-founded the largest pre-professional student organization on campus, Veritas Financial Group.
