The Alternative Investing Advantage Learn how to take control and give yourself the freedom to choose where you invest your money

This week on the Alternative Investing Advantage podcast, host Alex Perny welcomes Jeremy Goff of Hiram Capital for a discussion on infrastructure investments, with a focus on how to invest in railroads. Jeremy is the CEO of Hiram Capital, an alternative investment manager focused on commercial real estate, energy and infrastructure investments across the capital structure in the Central United States.

During this episode, Jeremy shares the benefits of short line railroads as an investment structure, including tax advantages, cash flow plays, and potential tax advantages. He also discusses the challenges faced by investors in owning a railroad. Additionally, Jeremy touches on the fuel consumption standard of rail, as it has two or three active locomotives with two diesel engines, which can haul two miles of freight cars. This is a significant advantage over truck-driven transportation.
